New EP qualified European Photographers
Derek Rabier from Belgium among them
The jury of the EP qualification of the Federation of European Professional Photographers finished the
judging of the 61st EP qualification session.
The European Photographer (EP) qualification is an entry level qualification that aims to recognise
competence and a professional standard for those who earn their lives as Professional Photographers. Even
at EP level, technical skill, composition and artistic expression is required.
The application process for EP is different from the more advanced QEP and MQEP qualifications. For EP
you can apply online with a set of 12 images. The panel must contain 12 images of a single photographic
specialisation, or 6 images of a single photographic specialisation and 6 of any other.
The EP judging is performed online. With a panel of 3 qualified judges, to qualify a candidate requires a
simple majority.
This time 20 EP applications were submitted, 16 out of which were successful.
One of the new EPs is Derek Rabier from Belgium.
The photographer is a member of beroepsfotografen.be.
Judges’ comment on the panel:
"Creative portrait and nude photography goes beyond a simple headshot, it focuses on a variety of
images by the variation of compositions, different choices in lighting, set design, props, and styling.
Generally the lighting is good as is the overall print quality."
"Playful light. A panel full of variation. Good compositions."
